Currently serving as an Assistant Manager at Tata Power-DDL since July 2017, Mohit has previously held the role of Executive Engineering Trainee at the same company. Mohit started the professional journey as a Summer Trainee at BSES Rajdhani in June 2016, gaining foundational knowledge of distribution in South Delhi. Earlier experiences include a Winter Trainee position at Indraprastha Power Generation Company Ltd (IPGCL) in December 2015, following a Summer Internship earlier that same year, where Mohit acquired hands-on experience in power plant operations and maintenance. Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (established July 1, 2002) is a joint venture between Tata Power and Government of NCT of Delhi distributing electricity to a populace of 7 million across an area of 510 sq km in North and North West Delhi and a peak load of 1967 MW. Tata Power-DDL has been a frontrunner in implementing power distribution reforms in the capital city reducing the Aggregate Technical & Commercial (AT&C) losses from the inherited 53% to the present 8.48%.The company is implementing projects including Smart Metering, Home Automation, Smart Grid Project, Electric Charging Stations, Solar Rooftop Net Metering projects. The company is also providing technical and management support through consultancy assignments in 19 Indian states and abroad including Kurdistan, Turkey, Iraq. The World Bank in its ‘Doing Business’ Report has acknowledged Tata Power-DDL’s contribution towards improving the ease of getting electricity connection through process simplification improving India’s ranking twice, by 111 points from 137 in 2015 to 26 in 2017. Tata Power-DDL has won several accolades for its pioneering efforts in transforming the power sector at national and international levels including the National Award for Meritorious Performance thrice by the Ministry of Power, Govt. of India. Tata Power-DDL has also been reaching out to the communities it serves and has been consistently strengthening and empowering the underprivileged, primarily over 1 million people residing in over 223 JJ clusters in its area of operation who are also company’s consumers through its focused Social Innovation Initiative SAATHI. Tata Power-DDL has benefitted nearly 11.5 lacs people through these initiatives.
