Laura Sewell is an experienced marketing professional with a strong focus on audience development and engagement within the arts sector. Currently serving as the Marketing Manager for Membership Growth at Tate since August 2024, Laura has previously held key marketing and communications roles at The Old Vic and Motionhouse. Significant achievements include leading marketing campaigns that exceeded audience development targets at Birmingham Royal Ballet and implementing a nationally recognized campaign at mac birmingham. Laura holds a Master of Science in Marketing from the University of Birmingham and a CIM level 6 Diploma in Professional Marketing, complemented by a Bachelor of Arts in Drama/Theatre Arts and Stagecraft from Liverpool John Moores University.

When Tate first opened its doors to the public in 1897 it had just one gallery, displaying a small collection of British artworks. Today we have four major galleries and the national collection of British art from 1500 to the present day and international modern and contemporary art, which includes nearly 80,000 artworks.
