Karen Forrester has extensive experience in health and safety roles, starting in 2006 as a Health and Safety Consultant at Halcrow Group and later at Buro Happold. Karen provided support, compliance advice, and coordination services for projects, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations. From 2010 to 2016, they worked as a Safety Practitioner and CDMC at Iberdrola Engineering and Construction, where they implemented and audited the safety management system. Karen continued to progress in their career, holding roles as a Senior SHE Advisor at Obelisk, Senior Safety Advisor at esd - Efficient Service Delivery Galliford Try, and Group Health and Safety Manager at Unite Students. In their most recent positions, they served as Head of Health and Safety at N Family Club, Head of HSE at Taylor Woodrow, and QHSE Director at CBRE Global Workplace Solutions (GWS).
Karen Forrester has a bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety from the University of West of Scotland, which they obtained from 2011 to 2013. Prior to that, they completed a CPD in Occupational Health, Safety and Risk Management from the University of Strathclyde in 2006. In 2005, Karen obtained a certification in General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety from NEBOSH. Earlier in their education, from 1996 to 1998, they attended Cumbernauld College, where they earned an HNC in Business Administration and Information Management. Karen's educational journey began at Cumbernauld High School, where they attended from 1991 to 1995.
