Miska Clay Bibbs

Miska Clay Bibbs currently serves as Chairwoman of the Shelby County Board of Commissioners and as a Shelby County Commissioner since September 2022. In addition, Miska holds the position of Chief of Staff and Senior Managing Director of External Affairs at Teach For America, a role that has been active since August 2019. Previous experience includes serving as a School Board Member and Chairperson for Shelby County Schools from 2014 to 2022, and as Executive Director at Teach Plus from July 2015 to August 2019. Miska held the role of Director of Community Engagement at Green Dot Public Schools from September 2013 to June 2015 and worked in community and volunteer relations for Memphis City Schools from 2005 to 2013. Earlier career highlights include positions as Development Specialist for the American Heart Association and Special Assistant in the Office of Congressman Harold Ford, Jr. Miska Clay Bibbs earned a degree from Hampton University between 1992 and 1996.
