Technology Alliance
Dave Thurman is a board member at Technology Alliance and a former director, manager, and technical lead at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). Dave has over 20 years of experience in the field of security and analytics and is a well-respected figure in the industry.
Thurman began their career at PNNL in 1998 as a senior research scientist in the National Security Directorate. Dave quickly rose through the ranks, becoming a technical lead in 2001 and eventually taking on the role of chief scientist for human-centered analytics in 2003.
In 2007, Thurman was named technical lead for analysis and decision support programs, and then in 2014 they became manager of national security cyber and analytics programs. Dave held this position until 2016 when they were promoted to director of PNNL's Seattle Research Center. Dave remained in this role until their departure from PNNL in 2018.
Since then, Thurman has served as a board member for Technology Alliance, an organization that promotes collaboration between Washington state's technology companies and research institutions. Dave is also a founding member of the Cybersecurity Moonshot Consortium, a group of leading cybersecurity experts working to solve some of the most pressing challenges in the field.
Dave Thurman has a Master of Science from Georgia Institute of Technology and a B.S. from University of Oregon. Dave also has a certification in Exploring Python from Northeastern University.
