Melissa Holmes

Melissa Holmes is an accomplished journalist with extensive experience in broadcast news. Currently serving as the Morning News Anchor at TEGNA since January 2012, Melissa is recognized as an Emmy Award and Edward R. Murrow Award winning co-anchor of Buffalo's top-rated morning news program, Daybreak. Prior to this role, Melissa was an Anchor/Reporter for WIVB/WNLO-TV from September 2005 to January 2012, where Melissa led the Wake-Up! program. Earlier career positions include Reporter/Fill-In Anchor at WSYR-TV Newschannel 9 Syracuse and News Reporter/Producer for CNYCentral WSTM NBC3, WTVH CBS5 & CW6. Melissa holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism from the Newhouse School of Public Communication at Syracuse University, earned between 2000 and 2004, along with a high school diploma from Sweet Home Senior High School.
