Research Director In Precision Aquaculture at Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory

Richard Le Boucher has a diverse work experience in the aquaculture industry. In their current position as a Research Director in Precision Aquaculture at Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory, they are responsible for directing research initiatives in this field. Richard also holds the role of Director Commercial Strategy Aquaculture at the same company. Prior to this, Richard served as the Director of Aquaculture Innovation and Marketing at Aquattaq, where they founded and led the department.

Richard also has extensive experience at IMV Technologies, where they worked as the Group R&D Manager in Disruptive Innovation. In this role, they managed multiple R&D projects and successfully developed and industrialized various products for the bovine and aquaculture industries. Richard also held the position of Aquaculture Marketing & Sales Manager at IMV Technologies, where they developed and marketed aquaculture products and built brand recognition through conferences and technical training.

Before joining IMV Technologies, Richard founded and worked as an Aquaculture Genetics Consultant at S.A.R.L. Genotop, where they provided genetic consulting services. Richard also worked as an Aquaculture Genetics Consultant at SYSAAF, where they managed private genetic programs and supervised R&D projects.

Richard's educational background includes a Ph.D in Fish Quantitative Genetics and Nutrition from the French National Institute for Agricultural Research and IFREMER. Richard conducted research on the impact of different diets on breeding programs in major fish species. Additionally, they worked as an Aquaculture Health Research Assistant at Université Laval, an Aquaculture Hatchery Research Assistant at the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC), and an Aquaculture Probiotics Research Assistant at Institut Rosell/Lallemand Company.

Richard Le Boucher has a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Fish Genetics and Nutrition from AgroParisTech, which they obtained from 2008 to 2011. In 2011, they also earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Management, Innovation Marketing, Negotiation, Entrepreneurship, and Finance from École des Ponts Business School. Richard completed a program on Driving Strategic Innovation at NUS Business School in 2019. Prior to that, Richard Le Boucher obtained an Engineer's degree in Aquaculture from L'Institut Agro Rennes-Angers from 2005 to 2008. Richard also holds an Engineer's degree in Agronomy from ENSAIA, which they completed from 2003 to 2005. Lastly, Richard Le Boucher received a BCPST degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geology, and Mathematics from Lycée Chateaubriand, which they completed from 2001 to 2003.

Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory

Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory (TLL) is a non-profit organization established in 2002 to undertake cutting edge research in molecular biology and genetics utilizing a broad range of model organisms. TLL is affiliated to the National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University. It is located within the campus of the National University of Singapore and is situated alongside other research institutes and academic departments of the university. We have about 220 researchers from over 23 countries. Our vision is to create an environment which can attract the brightest young minds world wide, support their research and challenge them to be leaders in their own fields. The institute is based on small but well supported and interactive research groups in which originality, innovation and creativity are emphasized. Collaboration between research groups within TLL and with other local and international research groups is actively encouraged. TLL has already had a positive impact on the development of biotechnology industry in Singapore through collaborations and joint research ventures with local and international partners. Through the excellence of our research, the talented people we nurture and our collaborations with educational, research, as well as industrial partners we will help to facilitate the development of life sciences based industries in Singapore.
