Job Description: 

We are looking for a Staff/Senior SSD System Validation Engineer to join our SSD product validation team. Our product validation team mainly focuses on the next generation SSD product validation, including SSD controller SoC features validation, FW testing and validation, SSD drive level features validation and SSD drive qualification jobs.  As a SSD System Validation Engineer, you would play a very important role to gate the SSD product delivery, and would also take part in the SSD controller architectural design, SoC design, SoC verification and validation, FW testing, drive validation and qualification.

Job Responsibilities: 

• Deeply study the SSD product requirements, SoC design documents, FW design documents, JEDEC specs and NAND behavior and characterization specs, and then define the test strategy, and develop the test plans for full coverage

• System validation test case implementation for different validation phases: FW testing, controller SoC features validation, SSD drive functional coverage validation, customer/OEM testing and SSD RDT testing

• Test execution and management per test plan on different hardware platforms: Virtual platform, HW emulator, FPGA platform and real SSD drive; analyze test results.

• FW, SoC, HW system issue debugging

• Work closely with FW engineers, AISC design engineers, and hardware system design engineers to solve the tough bugs, then find the solution of SSD product

• Develop and enhance the system validation automation framework, optimize validation methodology to shorten the validation cycle and enhance the validation coverage

• Support the architecture and design teams for definition of future storage products’ requirements

Required Qualifications: 

• Major education background in EE, CS or related fields, MS degree with 2+ years of NAND products validation experience or BS degree with 4+ years storage validation experience

• Expertise in Python, C, scripting languages, programming tools and environments

• Experience in SSD product validation or SSD FW testing

• Good knowledge of SSD product FW/HW features

• Knowledge of PCIe, NVMe, NAND bus (ONFI/Toggle) protocol

• Trouble shooting skills: FW log and HW trace analyzing

• Knowledge of test equipment, such as Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, PCIe/NVMe analyzer and so on

• Good written and spoken English is required

Skills and Knowledge preferred but not required: 

• NAND Storage product firmware design and debug experience
• SSD controller HW validation and debug experience
• Expertise on PCIe and NVMe, ability to deep into the IP design
• Strong knowledge of NAND flash: CMD behavior and NAND characteristics
