John E. Williams is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in government relations and higher education. Currently serving as Associate Vice Chancellor for Government and Public Relations at the Tennessee Board of Regents since September 2021, Williams has previously held roles such as Legislative Attorney and Research Analyst at the Tennessee General Assembly. With a solid background in academic administration at Lipscomb University, including positions as Academic Director and Director of Marketing and Enrollment, Williams successfully implemented strategies that increased student enrollment and retention. A graduate of Lipscomb University with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Williams also holds a J.D. from the Nashville School of Law and is pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Community College Leadership from East Tennessee State University.
