Ridwaan Sookharia has a diverse work experience spanning over 20 years. Ridwaan began their career as a Technical Support at ALSTOM from 1999 to 2003. Ridwaan then worked as an IT Helpdesk Officer at the Engineering Council of South Africa from 2003 to 2006, where they were responsible for hardware and software maintenance, network administration, and user training. Ridwaan joined the Standard Bank of South Africa in 2006, where they held various roles including IT Support Analyst, IT Executive Support & Team Leader, Service Delivery IT Manager - Desktop Support, IT Production Manager / Service Delivery Manager, and Head: Market Data South Africa and Dealing Infrastructure. In these roles, they gained experience in incident management, change management, problem management, release management, and service delivery. Ridwaan also managed crisis situations and ensured system availability. In 2010, Ridwaan volunteered as a Media and IT Volunteer for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Ridwaan then moved to Standard Bank Group in 2018, where they held the positions of Head of Information Technology Operations and later Head Infrastructure and Operations. In these roles, they provided strategic and operational leadership, managed a large budget, and supported cost reduction efforts. Ridwaan is currently working as the Head of Data Centre Operations at Teraco Data Environments.

Ridwaan Sookharia completed a Certified Data Centre Professional (CDCP®) program at EXIN in 2021. Prior to that, they obtained a National Diploma in Information Technology from Wits Technikon in 1999, where they studied from 1998 to 1999. Additionally, they attended Lawson Brown from 1992 to 1997, but the degree and field of study details are unknown.
