Daniel Olguín is a seasoned professional in the fields of materials science and engineering, currently serving as a Research Manager at Ternium since February 2023. Daniel obtained a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from The University of Sheffield, where the thesis focused on the effect of austenite microstructure and composition on transformation behavior in the heat affected zone of pipeline steel. Prior to this, Daniel held various roles at Ternium, including Engineer of Maintenance and Leader of Mechanical Maintenance, gaining extensive experience in failure analysis, maintenance planning, and mechanical improvements in steel production. Daniel also contributed to academia as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Student Tutor at The University of Sheffield, supporting students in engineering applications and health and safety. Daniel holds a Master's degree in Engineering Specialty in Mechanics and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León.
