Lead Principal Engineer at TerraPower

Andrew (Drew) Mueller is a seasoned metallurgical engineer with extensive experience in nuclear applications and materials development. Currently serving as Lead Principal Engineer at TerraPower since July 2022, Andrew is responsible for leading Core Materials Qualification for the Natrium project, following a tenure as Principal Engineer focusing on developing the Core Materials Supply Chain for the same initiative. Prior to TerraPower, Andrew spent nearly 14 years at Westinghouse Electric Company as a Principal Metallurgical Engineer, specializing in zirconium alloy development and support for nuclear applications. Andrew's earlier roles include Senior Metallurgical Engineer at Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory, where advanced high-temperature refractory metal concepts were developed, and positions at GS Technologies and Armco Research, emphasizing metallurgical manufacturing and research for high carbon steel products. Andrew holds a Master of Engineering in Metallurgical Engineering from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati.
