Irene Hsieh

VP, Finance & Accounting at TerraPower

Irene Hsieh is the Vice President of Finance and Accounting at TerraPower. In this role, Irene leads a team responsible for government compliance, shareholder reporting, payroll, benefits, corporate planning and financial systems.

Irene has 25 years of experience across government compliance, international joint venture, fundraising, cost optimization, risk management and corporate strategic planning. In addition to financial and operational expertise, she has led various transformational initiatives such as the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system transition.

Prior to TerraPower, Irene joined Intellectual Ventures as the Controller where she was responsible for treasury, budget, forecast, audit, tax and financial reporting. Irene played a leading role in the spin out of TerraPower from Intellectual Ventures in 2012.

Prior to Intellectual Ventures, Irene spent nine years at a Kirkland, WA based venture capital firm OVP Venture Partners supporting the fund administration and operations of $750M assets under management as of Controller/Director of Finance. There, she supported fundraising efforts and worked closely with portfolio companies to support their success.

Irene started her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers Seattle office in the advisory business assurance practice. There, she led a team of staff responsible for planning and executing multi-location audits for global investment banks, venture capital firms, hedge funds, start-ups, universities, benefit plans, private and public companies supporting IPO and SEC filing.

Irene holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, Accounting Concentration at the University of Washington. She is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Washington State.
