Julie Mosbo Ballestro is the University Librarian and Assistant Provost at Texas A&M University. She previously served as the interim dean of the University Libraries. The University Librarian is responsible to direct programs and personnel and lead a wide range of library services to include special collections, student and academic engagement, organizational effectiveness and development, assessment and planning, information discovery, and research support.
Ms. Mosbo Ballestro joined Texas A&M in October 2013 as the University Libraries’ William and Susan Ouren director of preservation. She has held the positions of associate dean for administration and faculty services and interim director of Cushing Memorial Library and Archives as well as other positions of leadership in libraries in Texas and Illinois. She holds a master’s degree in library and information studies from the University of Wisconsin at Madison and certificate of advanced study in preservation of the cultural record from the University of Texas at Austin.
