Trent W. Thomas

Trent W. Thomas is an experienced government affairs professional currently serving as the Director of the Government Affairs Division at the Texas Department of Transportation, a role held since April 2012. In this capacity, Trent oversees interactions with the Governor’s Office, elected officials, and federal agencies, leading a team focused on State Legislative Affairs and Federal Affairs. Prior experience includes positions as Chief of Staff and Legislative Policy Director within the Texas House of Representatives, where Trent managed campaigns and provided policy advice on various legislative issues. Additional experience includes directing government affairs for a trade organization and serving as a sales representative at Pepsi Bottling Group. Trent holds a Master of Science in Education and a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Services & Development from Tarleton State University.
