Shawn Groth

Shawn Groth, M.D., M.S., FACS is an accomplished medical professional currently serving as the Associate Chief and Associate Professor of Surgery in the Division of Thoracic Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine since October 2014. In addition, Shawn Groth holds the position of Director of Esophageal Surgical Services within the same division and serves as the Associate Program Director for the Thoracic Surgery Residency Program at Texas Heart Institute. Previous roles include Clinical Instructor in the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at UPMC from July 2013 to September 2014. Shawn Groth earned a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Minnesota Medical School in 2003, a Master of Science from the University of Minnesota School of Public Health in 2009, and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Chemistry from St. Olaf College in 1999.
