Barrett Bryant

Barrett Bryant currently serves as the Dean of the College of Science and Engineering at Texas State University since August 2023. Prior to this role, Barrett held multiple positions at the University of North Texas, including Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs, Special Assistant to the Dean for Enrollment Growth, and Director of Graduate Studies in Engineering, as well as Professor and Chair of Computer Science and Engineering from August 2011 to July 2023. Before joining the University of North Texas, Barrett was a Professor and Associate Chair at the University of Alabama at Birmingham from January 1983 to July 2011 and spent time as a Visiting Professor at Tsinghua University in early 2010. Barrett earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Northwestern University and a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
