Paul Mutiria has a diverse work experience in finance and accounting roles. Paul is currently working as the Head of Finance at Text Book Centre Ltd since 2022. Previously, they served as a Business Consultant at International Controls Limited from 2020 to 2021, where they developed strategic plans, implemented internal controls, and improved financial planning and reporting. Prior to that, they worked as a Financial Controller at WPP-Scangroup from 2012 to 2019, overseeing financial operations and ensuring compliance with statutory obligations. Paul also held the position of Finance Manager at Millward Brown East Africa from 2010 to 2012, where they managed financial operations and prepared budget and forecast reports. Paul started their career as a Senior Auditor at Deloitte & Touche, East Africa from 2005 to 2010, leading audit assignments and identifying internal control weaknesses.

Paul Mutiria is currently a candidate for a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at the University of Warwick - Warwick Business School, with an expected completion date in 2022. Prior to pursuing their MBA, they obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree in Accounting from the University of Nairobi, where they studied from 2000 to 2004. During their time at the University of Nairobi, they also pursued a CPA (K) field of study from the Kenya Accountants and Secretaries National Examination Board (KASNEB) from 2001 to 2003.

In addition to their formal education, Paul has obtained certifications in Microsoft Power BI Desktop and Power BI Data Modeling with DAX from LinkedIn. These certifications were obtained in December 2021.
