Alessandro Scarciglia is an Engineering Technical Lead for Visual Perception & A.I. at Thales Alenia Space, where leadership is provided to a technical team focused on developing Visual Perception applications for In-Orbit Servicing since October 2020. Prior to this role, Alessandro worked as a Research and Development Engineer specializing in Visual Perception and Artificial Intelligence. Earlier experience includes serving as a Junior Project Engineer at ICARUS PoliTO, where development work was conducted on the Record Aircraft, a solar-powered autonomous UAV. Alessandro is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering at Politecnico di Torino, alongside a MicroMaster Program in Data Science & Statistics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, having previously acquired a Master's degree in Mechatronic Engineering and a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering from Politecnico di Torino. Additional academic experience includes an Erasmus+ program in Robotics & Control Systems at Aalto University.
