Pecorella Walter has extensive work experience in various industries. Their most recent position was at THALES ALENIA SPACE, where they served as the CTO Dept - Head of R&T&D Consortia & PNRR. In this role, they were responsible for managing co-funded research and development activities, scouting potential academic partnerships and start-ups, and defining long-term innovation strategies.
Prior to that, Walter worked at Ansaldo Energia spa as the Deputy CTO - Product Development Engineering Dept. Here, they contributed to the company's smart grid offerings and led the analysis of Low Energy Nuclear Reactions for energy production. Pecorella also played a key role in the GATOFF Project, a national project focused on gas turbine flexibility.
Walter has also held positions at Sogin, where they served as the Head of Industry and Innovation Division, and at Telespazio, where they worked in Business Development. At Telespazio, they were responsible for collaborating with scientific institutions and developing the company's strategic business plan for space activities.
Additionally, Walter has served as a founding member and member of the Board of Directors at Associazione Culturale "Solidarietà e Sviluppo" and as the Vice President and Member of the Board of Directors at INAF - Istituto Nazionale di Astrofisica. In these roles, they were involved in developing strategies, fundraising, and representing the institutions in international organizations.
Earlier in their career, Walter worked as the General Manager at TER srl and as the Sales Manager at New Century Informatica scrl.
Throughout their career, Walter has demonstrated strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and a focus on innovation and development.
Pecorella Walter completed their education with a Diploma di Maturità Scientifica from Liceo Scientifico Statale "Camillo Benso Conte di Cavour" in the years 1974 to 1978. Afterwards, they pursued a degree in Physics from Sapienza Università di Roma, graduating in 1984. In 1999 to 2000, they obtained an II level Master degree in Economics and Transports from the University of Rome "Tor Vergata".
