Gary Kidwell

VP, Communication Systems at Thales Defense & Security

Gary Kidwell is Vice President of the Communication Systems business unit for Thales Defense & Security, Inc. (TDSI). In this role, Mr. Kidwell is responsible for all Tactical, Satellite Communications, and Electronic Warfare business within the US DoD and export markets.

Mr. Kidwell also held key business development and account management positions within Thales, most recently as the Director of Business Development for US DoD Programs. In this role, he developed solid growth strategies and led disciplined opportunity pursuits that resulted in consecutive strategic awards totaling over $100M annually, including contracts for the Army Leader Radio Program of Record and the Security Force Assistance Brigade (SFAB).

Before joining Thales, Mr. Kidwell held senior business development roles with SCI Technology, Inc. in Huntsville, Alabama and RJ Corman Derailment Services in Nicholasville, Kentucky, in addition to working for DynCorp International in Kabul, Afghanistan providing protective security for international diplomats.

Mr. Kidwell is a recently retired and highly decorated member of the United States Marine Corps (USMC), where he served in both an active and reserve duty for over 23 years and achieved the rank of Master Gunnery Sergeant. Mr. Kidwell graduated from Columbia Southern University in Orange Beach, Alabama with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.
