Stephanie Bernardes

Vice President, Health Policy And Strategy at The Health Management Academy

Stephanie Bernardes has a diverse work experience in the healthcare and policy sectors. Stephanie is currently working at The Health Management Academy as the Managing Director, Health Policy and Strategy. In this role, Stephanie is responsible for leading The Academy Advisors, a cooperative of health systems focusing on policy issues unique to the integrated delivery network business model. Stephanie develops and executes strategic priorities, serves as a registered lobbyist, advises health system executives on federal policy initiatives, addresses industry audiences on market issues, and publishes policy content.

Prior to their current role, Stephanie worked at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons as the Manager of Government Relations from 2015 to 2019. Stephanie also gained experience as a Legislative Fellow in Healthcare at Powers, Pyles, Sutter & Verville, P.C., a Government Affairs Intern at the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, and a Practicum Student at the Center for Science in the Public Interest.

Stephanie's earlier work experience includes roles as an Administrative Assistant at Delaware Valley Plastic Surgery and as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative at Warner Chilcott.

Stephanie Bernardes holds a Bachelor's Degree in Biology from Lafayette College. Additionally, they have obtained a Master's Degree in Public Health with a focus on Health Policy from The George Washington University.
