Tim Dunne joined The American Equity Underwriters, Inc. in 2012. He serves as the Senior Vice President, Director of Information Systems. Prior to joining AEU, Tim served as a Naval Aviator for 10 years, followed by 12 years of application design and installation for various software companies. He received his bachelor’s degree from Tulane University and received his master’s degree from the University of Florida.

The American Equity Underwriters, Inc. is the program administrator of the American Longshore Mutual Association Ltd (ALMA), a group self-insurance fund authorized by the U.S. Department of Labor to provide USL&H coverage for the liabilities of its members under the United States Longshore & Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act. As program administrator, AEU provides services such as claims handling, loss control, and underwriting, as well as longshore consulting and leadership training. In addition to USL&H coverage, AEU offers State Act workers’ compensation coverage on PMA and Great American paper and maritime employers’ liability through Lloyd’s of London syndicate Novae paper. With a history rooted in maritime, AEU is keenly aware of the challenges faced by waterfront employers and has carefully built services and teams to directly meet those needs. Longshore insurance is our specialty, so our members can rest assured their unique exposures are being handled by experts.
