Abdelaziz Khlaifat

Abdelaziz Khlaifat is an accomplished academic and professional in the field of petroleum and energy engineering, currently serving as Professor and Chair of the Petroleum and Energy Engineering Department at The American University in Cairo since July 2019, while also acting as an ABET Program Evaluator. Prior roles include positions as Professor at the American University of Iraq, Sulaimani, and at Abu Dhabi Polytechnic, where Khlaifat was the Founding Head of Petroleum Engineering Technology. Previous experience includes leadership roles at Weatherford as R&D Manager and Senior Reservoir Engineer, as well as various academic positions at Mutah University and Al-Hussein Bin Talal University. Khlaifat holds a PhD in Chemical/Reservoir Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology, alongside advanced degrees in Chemical Engineering and Petroleum Production, demonstrating extensive expertise in both education and industry.
