Kent Yao

Kent (Qin) Yao is an accomplished software engineer and active contributor to the open-source community, currently serving as an Apache Spark PMC Member and Committer, as well as the Apache Kyuubi PMC Chair and Vice President at The Apache Software Foundation. With prior experience as a Staff Software Engineer at 网易 and a Software Engineer at 华为, Kent holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Bioinformatics and a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Biomedical Medical Engineering, both obtained from Zhejiang University between 2005 and 2015.
