Program Manager, Diversity Apprenticeship Program at The Broad

Sherie Mateo has over 18 years of experience in various leadership roles within the museum and arts sectors. Currently serving as Program Manager for the Diversity Apprenticeship Program at The Broad since July 2015, Sherie oversees anti-harassment training and previously held multiple positions focused on visitor experience and services, managing teams and responding to visitor needs. Prior to The Broad, Sherie was the Director of Administration at the Chinese American Museum, facilitating major events and developing membership programs. Sherie's career also includes roles in gallery assistance, print coordination for film festivals, and community arts participation, alongside a Studio Art degree from UC Irvine.

The Broad

The Broad is a contemporary art museum founded by philanthropists Eli and Edythe Broad on Grand Avenue in downtown Los Angeles. Designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro in collaboration with Gensler, the museum offers free general admission and presents an active program of rotating temporary exhibitions and innovative audience engagement. The Broad is home to nearly 2,000 works of art in the Broad collection, which is one of the world’s leading collections of postwar and contemporary art, and welcomes more than 800,000 visitors a year. The 120,000-square-foot building features two floors of gallery space and is the headquarters of The Broad Art Foundation’s worldwide lending library, which has been loaning collection works to museums around the world since 1984.
