Currently serving as a Board Member for The Brooklyn Rail since January 2018, Zilar contributes as a strategic design partner, guiding the organization in vision setting and team empowerment. Previous roles include Senior Engineer at Bonsai, Staff Designer for Shopify's Polaris Design System, and Director of Digital.gov at Technology Transformation Services, where Zilar modernized governmental digital services. Zilar's experience extends to leading cross-functional teams at 18F, overseeing platform engineering at Time Inc., and managing the digital strategy for over 200 blogs at The New York Times. Zilar holds a BFA in Painting, Drawing & Digital Media from Rocky Mountain College of Art & Design.
