The Calgary Philharmonic
Gwen Klassen is the Founder and Director of Wellness and Leadership Incorporated, where since July 2017, leadership coaching has been provided to emerging and experienced leaders aiming to foster inclusive cultures with courage and compassion. Gwen completed coach certification at the Institute for Life Coach Training in 2017 and offers a range of coaching services. Additionally, Gwen has been a Sessional Instructor at the University of Calgary since September 2002 and serves as the Assistant Principal Flute/Piccolo for the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra since September 1995. As the Founder and Director of Pender Island Flute Retreat Inc. from February 2009 to January 2022, Gwen managed all aspects of the retreat, including programming, fundraising, and participant coordination. Gwen holds a Master’s degree in Music Performance from Northwestern University, earned between 1989 and 1990.
