Rana Shabb, Ph.D., currently serves as the Associate Director for Middle East and Data and Analysis at The Carter Center since October 2021. Prior to this position, Rana completed a Ph.D. in International Affairs, Science and Technology at the Georgia Tech Sam Nunn School of International Affairs while working as a Research Coordinator during the U.S. Election 2020 and holding various roles at The Carter Center, including Interim Assistant Director for the Middle East and Assistant Program Coordinator for Israel and Palestine. Additional experience includes consulting for Booz Allen Hamilton, interning with the Association for the Development of Rural Capacities and DLA Piper, and serving as a teaching assistant at Georgetown University. Rana holds a Master of Science in Foreign Service with a focus on International Development from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Arts in Quantitative Economics and International Relations from Tufts University.
