Julia Bontempo is a seasoned resilience planner currently holding the position of Senior Resilience Planner at Dewberry since December 2023. In addition, Julia serves as a Fellow in the Climate Security Fellowship at The Center for Climate and Security, engaging with experts on critical intersections between climate change and national security. Academic contributions include a role as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Columbia University since May 2019. Previous experiences encompass positions such as Associate for Resilience and Offshore Wind at Karp Strategies, where Julia managed economic, workforce, and environmental development plans, and Social Resiliency Fellow at the NYC Mayor's Office of Climate Resiliency. Julia's academic credentials include a Master of Science in Sustainability Management from Columbia University and a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design with a minor in Anthropology from the University of Notre Dame.

The Center for Climate and Security is an action-oriented think tank and convenor, with a distinguished Advisory Board of senior retired military leaders and security professionals. We facilitate policy development processes and dialogues, provide analysis, consolidate existing reports into short, digestible documents, conduct research, and act as a resource hub in the climate and security field.
