Matt Bassow has extensive work experience in various roles at The Chronicle of Higher Education. Matt started in 2003 as a Manager and later served as a Business Analyst / Project Manager at CQ Press in 2005. Matt then returned to The Chronicle of Higher Education in 2007 as the Director of New Media, and later took on the role of Director - Technical Product Manager, Web Platform in 2010. Their responsibilities in this role included implementing and maintaining various analytics tools and leading a cross-functional team to develop KPIs and dashboards. In 2015, they were promoted to the role of Director of Digital Analytics and Business Intelligence, where they continued to oversee digital analytics and business intelligence initiatives for multiple web properties.
Matt Bassow graduated from Emory University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Latin American Studies. In 1994, they pursued some graduate work in Student Affairs at Western Kentucky University.

Online, The Chronicle is published every weekday and is the top destination for news, advice, and jobs for people in academe.
