Johanna Lanner-Cusin

Johanna Lanner-Cusin serves as the Dean of Faculty and Chair of the History Department at The College Preparatory School since July 2016, while also teaching history. Previously, Lanner-Cusin participated in the NAIS Fellowship for Aspiring Heads from February 2020 to July 2021. Prior to that, Lanner-Cusin chaired the History Department at The Shipley School and cultivated teaching expertise at the University of Wisconsin-Madison as a Lecturer in History and Co-Editor for The Center for the Study of the American Constitution. Lanner-Cusin's earlier roles include being a teaching assistant and head residential counselor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and teaching history at the Drew School while also serving as Associate Director of Admissions. Educational credentials include a Bachelor's Degree in Government from Harvard University, a Master's degree and PhD (ABD) in U.S. History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a high school diploma from The College Preparatory School.
