Smiley Pool

Smiley Pool is a seasoned photographer with extensive experience in the field of photojournalism. Currently serving as a Senior Staff Photographer at The Dallas Morning News since December 2014, Smiley Pool has previously held multiple roles, including Chief Photographer and Photo Coach at the Houston Chronicle from 2006 to December 2014, as well as Staff Photographer positions at The Dallas Morning News, the Houston Chronicle, The Colorado Springs Gazette, LLC, and the Austin American-Statesman. Smiley Pool's educational background includes studies at Austin Community College and the University of Missouri-Saint Louis, both of which were pursued in the mid-1980s.
