Tao Qian

Tao Qian is an accomplished software engineering professional with extensive experience in financial data processing and software development. Currently serving as an Associate Director in Software Engineering at The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) since June 2025, Tao previously held the position of Engineering Lead at Nium from November 2021 to June 2025. Prior roles include Team Lead and Senior Software Engineer at Code Willing LLC, where expertise in developing low latency financial market data processing software using C++ and Python was demonstrated. Tao's career began with a substantial research background, including positions at IBM as a Senior Application Developer, Global-Z International, Inc. as a lead developer, and various research roles at prestigious universities focused on data analysis and software development in fields such as cosmology and particle physics. Tao holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Minnesota and a Bachelor's degree in Physics from Peking University.
