Kathryn Squyres

Kathryn Squyres is an accomplished journalist with extensive experience in various reporting and editorial roles. Currently serving as a photographer and administration beat reporter for The American University Eagle since January 2025, Kathryn has also worked as an editorial intern at Current: News for Public Media. Previously, Kathryn was a congressional correspondent for the Durango Herald, where responsibilities included pitching and reporting on significant political stories and analyzing election dynamics. Kathryn held multiple positions at The American University Eagle, including campus life editor and investigative reporter, and served as a program leader for a Complex Problems seminar. Kathryn's diverse skills are complemented by a background in coaching gymnastics and working in customer service at Crumbl Cookies. Currently pursuing dual bachelor's degrees in journalism and political science at American University, Kathryn is furthering education through a study abroad program focused on new media and community engagement.
