Mitch Kahn is a skilled materials engineer with a diverse background in material testing, engineering, and education. Currently serving as a Material Test Engineer at The Edward Orton Jr. Ceramic Foundation since July 2023, Mitch conducts materials property testing using advanced data acquisition systems. Experience as a Materials Engineer at Matrix Food Technologies, Inc. involved conducting experiments for cell-cultured meat product commercialization, developing synthetic polymer formulations, and fostering a culture of innovation. The Edward Orton Jr. Ceramic Foundation

The Orton Ceramic Foundation manufactures and sells temperature monitoring devices used to confirm process temperatures and measure heat work (Pyrometric Cones, TempTabs, TempCheks, and PTCR rings.). Orton also manufactures thermal analysis instruments (dilatometers, glass testing, and gradient furnaces) and electronic controllers for the professional potters market. The Orton materials testing laboratory is a full-service, independent facility focused on the refractory, glass, and ceramic industries.
