Exploratorium
Brewster Ely arrived at Town School in 1989, carrying the strong personal values and traditions of his family, following in his father’s footsteps as an educator, and as a headmaster himself for 24 years.
During his many years as headmaster, Brewster helped countless students discover their strengths and talents, pursue their dreams, express their creativity, and develop their unique character. When he retires, Brewster will have served as Headmaster for more than a third of the Town School's nearly 80-year history.
In 1990, Brewster co-founded Project Discover, an educational summer camp serving low-income children in the San Francisco Bay Area. He also created the New Teacher Institute, which trains new educators and administrators.
