Peter Sands currently serves as the Executive Director of The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria since March 2018, while simultaneously holding multiple research and senior fellow positions at Harvard University. Sands has extensive experience in advisory roles, including being a Senior Advisor at Shore Capital and Noble Markets, and an Advisory Board Member at Kensho Technologies. Previous leadership includes a tenure as Group Chief Executive and Group Finance Director at Standard Chartered Bank from May 2002 to June 2015. Sands has also contributed significantly to global health initiatives, serving as Chairman of the International Working Group on Financing Preparedness at the World Bank Group and as Chairman of the Commission on Global Health Risk Framework at the National Academy of Medicine. Sands holds a Masters in Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School and a Bachelor of Arts in Politics, Philosophy & Economics from the University of Oxford.
