The Ground
Michael Martin currently serves as the Executive Sous Chef at The Ground, a position held since February 2023. Previously, Martin worked as a Sous Chef at John Ash & Co and Kientz Hall, the latter emphasizing live fire cooking and seasonal cal-Mediterranean fare. Experience includes an Executive Sous Chef role at White Lodging Services, where responsibilities included mentoring staff and banquet planning. Earlier positions at Dear Inga and Magee Homestead focused on high-end dining and exceptional guest service. Notable achievements include contributions to a Michelin-starred restaurant, extensive kitchen training, and team development. Michael Martin obtained a degree in Social and Behavioral Science from California State University, Monterey Bay.
