Sophie R. is an experienced aerospace professional currently serving as a Research & Development Officer at The HALO Trust since February 2023 and a Member of the Board of Advisors at Urban-Air Port since October 2023. Previously, Sophie held various roles at Vertical Aerospace from February 2020 to February 2023, including Flying Qualities Manager and Senior Flight Dynamics Engineer & Flight Test Performance IPT Lead. Prior experience includes working as a Flight Physics Analysis Engineer at Kopter Group AG from January 2018 to December 2019, a Flight Dynamics Tutor (Rotary Wing) at ETPS from July 2016 to December 2017, and a Flight Physics Engineer at QinetiQ from July 2013 to July 2016. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Aerospace Engineering and a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Aerospace Engineering, both earned at the University of Liverpool, where studies spanned from 2005 to 2014.
