The Harbour Centre (Plymouth) was first established in the late 1980’s as a charity known then as Plymouth Alcohol Advisory Service. It was renamed and incorporated as a charity limited by guarantee in 1998. By 2004 it became the lead organisation of an agency providing integrated drug and alcohol treatment services in Plymouth. 
 
Based in Plymouth the agency, locally known as Harbour, provides community based treatment and support services to assist recovery for people with multiple needs associated with the misuse, dependency or addiction to drugs or alcohol.

Harbour employs around 80 people and has 18 volunteers including the trustees. The Harbour Centre’s budgeted income this year is just above £2.5m. With the co-located medical and prescribing services commissioned through Public Health, Harbour has collective responsibility for a further £2m worth of resources. The Charity also owns property assets, including Hyde Park House from which derives rental income.
