Joseph Mathieu

Joseph Mathieu has extensive experience in underwriting and legal practice, currently serving as VP in the Office of the Chief Underwriting Officer at The Hartford since October 2002. Prior roles at The Hartford include AVP of Middle Market Underwriting Practices, focusing on general liability, umbrella underwriting practices, product development, and line of business management, as well as positions within the Hartford Construction Group and as a Claims Large Loss Consultant. Prior to this, Joseph Mathieu was an attorney and partner at Michelson, Kane, Royster & Barger from 1994 to 2002, specializing in construction litigation. Educational credentials include a JD from the University of Connecticut School of Law and a BS in Political Science from Providence College.
