Anthony J. Hayes is the President and Founder of The Hayes Initiative, a full-service public affairs firm established in January 2017, specializing in strategic counsel, communications, and crisis management. Hayes has significant experience in campaign management, having served as the National Advance - Overall Press Lead for Hillary for America from October 2015 to November 2016, where responsibilities included crisis management and media logistics for major political events. Prior roles include Vice President of Public Affairs and Policy at GMHC and Managed Communications & Media at the Port Authority of NY & NJ. With a background in advocacy and strategic communications dating back to a regional organizing role at the Human Rights Campaign, Hayes also has experience in fundraising and event production. Hayes holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from The New School.

THI has advised clients involved in complex legal matters and managed high-stakes media relations during crises such as Bridgegate, airport security breaches, and natural disasters including Superstorm Sandy and hurricane relief efforts in the U.S. Virgin Islands. We facilitate events around the world from large conferences and galas to bilateral meetings with heads of state and executives. Our work has a long-standing record of securing and managing interviews with all of the major national print and broadcast outlets.
