Christy Koense has a wealth of experience in the education field. Christy started their career in 1992 as a Teacher at Townsend Elementary School. After working there for nine years, they joined The Independence School in 2001 as a First Grade Teacher. In 2012, Christy was promoted to Head of Early Childhood at The Independence School. Christy then transitioned to the role of Head of Early Childhood & Associate Director of Admission and Communications in 2013. A year later, in 2014, they became the Head of Lower School at The Independence School. Throughout their career, Christy has shown dedication and expertise in early childhood education and leadership roles.
Christy Koense earned their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Education from the University of Delaware, which they attended from 1988 to 1992. Christy then pursued further education and obtained a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the same university, completing their studies from 1993 to 1997.
