Jeannette Capella, MD, MEd, FACS, is an experienced acute care surgeon currently practicing at The Iowa Clinic since September 2018. With a strong background in trauma and disaster medicine, Jeannette has held various significant roles, including Medical Officer for the International Medical Surgical Response Team - East since January 2010, and Assistant Director of Trauma at UPMC Altoona from May 2011 to June 2018. Previous positions include trauma surgeon and residency faculty at Carilion Clinic and various medical officer roles within disaster response teams. Jeannette's educational achievements include a Doctor of Medicine from the University of South Florida College of Medicine, a Master of Education from The University of Georgia, and a Graduate Certificate in Disaster Management from the University of South Florida.
