The Joffrey Ballet
Matthew Carney is an accomplished lighting professional with extensive experience in the performing arts sector. Currently serving as a Lighting Programmer at The Joffrey Ballet since September 2018, Matthew also holds the role of Designer & Project Manager at Theatrical Lighting Connection and has been the owner of Matthew Carney Lighting Design since 2008. Prior experience includes working as a Stagehand and Ground Rigger at I Wireless Center and as a Stagehand at Adler Theatre. Matthew gained valuable skills as a Performing Arts Production Unit Electrician at the University of Iowa and as a Lighting and Sound Technical Director at Pleasant Valley High School. Matthew Carney earned a Bachelor's Degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Iowa and an AA in Liberal Arts from Scott Community College.
