Elissa Hawley has extensive experience in governance and corporate affairs, currently serving as the Senior Associate Director of Governance Materials and Processes at the Joint Commission since November 2001. Elissa has progressed through various roles at the Joint Commission, including Associate Director for Board Activities and Meeting Management, and Senior Board of Commissioners Specialist. Prior to this, Elissa worked as a Collier County Government Reporter for Naples Daily News, covering local government activities, and held editorial positions at The Daily Northwestern, supervising a team of reporters and overseeing news assignments. Elissa began a career in journalism as a City Desk Reporter at Anderson Independent Mail. Elissa holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, earned in 1999.
