Rafael Aldaz is an experienced leader in the field of electrical engineering and optoelectronics, currently serving as the CEO of GaNWorks since April 2019 and as a Board advisor at The LightBridge Group since February 2023. Prior roles include Sr. Vice President of LED Product Development, Vice President of Operations, and Director of Advanced Lightsource Development at Soraa from September 2010 to April 2019, along with significant positions at Philips Lumileds and Stanford University. Rafael holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, along with a Master’s degree in the same field and a Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering from Universidad Simón Bolívar. Expertise includes designing high-power LED devices and advanced laser systems, with a strong background in nano-fabrication and semiconductor physics.
