Carlos Orantes is a dedicated nephrologist and researcher with extensive experience in the field of renal health. Currently serving as a Research Assistant at The Lundquist Institute for Biomedical Innovation and a Renal Research Scientist at Wearable Artificial Organs, Inc, Carlos focuses on innovative solutions for patients with End-Stage Renal Disease. Previous roles include membership in the ISN Education Team and nephrology positions at the Ministry of Health of El Salvador. Carlos has also contributed academically as a professor and visited professor in physiology. With a strong educational background that includes a doctorate in medicine and specialized training in nephrology, Carlos Orantes is committed to advancing the knowledge and treatment of chronic kidney disease.

The Lundquist Institute, formerly the Los Angeles Biomedical Research Institute (LA BioMed), is an engine of innovation with a global reach and a 67-year reputation of improving and saving lives.
