Dr Nigel Hand

Dr Nigel Hand is a seasoned operations leader with extensive experience in the chemical engineering sector. Currently serving as the Manager of Site Operations at The LYCRA Company since November 2020, Dr Hand previously held the position of Operations Manager at INVISTA from September 2005 to November 2020, where responsibilities included overseeing Lycra® production and ensuring process and personal safety. Earlier roles at DuPont included Six Sigma Black Belt, leading project teams in problem-solving and process optimization, and Senior Engineer, providing technical support for high hazard chemical processes. Dr Hand began their career as a Research Engineer at BP, focusing on heat transfer and distillation technologies. An esteemed professional, Dr Hand is a Fellow of the Institute of Chemical Engineers and holds both a PhD and a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Queen's University Belfast.
